The African Journal of Pharmacy and Alternative Medicine (AJPAM) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal committed to the dissemination of high-quality research in pharmacy, pharmacology, and alternative medicine. To support editorial operations, peer review management, digital publishing, and long-term archiving, an Article Processing Fee (APF) of USD 150 or KES 15,000 applies to accepted manuscripts. Submitted manuscripts undergo two layers of evaluation before acceptance:
Editorial Review – The editorial team evaluates submissions for scope relevance, originality, ethical compliance, clarity, and adherence to journal formatting guidelines. Manuscripts that fail to meet these criteria may be returned for revision or rejected at this stage.
Technical Review – Following editorial approval, manuscripts are assessed for scientific rigor, methodological soundness, statistical validity, and adherence to ethical research standards. This process ensures that only high-quality, well-structured research is considered for publication.
Payment of the Article Processing Fee will be required after the first evaluation (Editorial Review). This enables the manuscript to proceed to the Technical Review and peer review stages.
This fee covers: Manuscript processing and peer review administration; Editorial evaluation and quality control; Typesetting, online publication, and open-access hosting; Permanent archiving and indexing in scholarly databases.
There are no submission fees or additional charges for color figures or supplementary materials.
AJPAM remains committed to ensuring accessibility to quality research. Waivers or discounts may be considered for authors from low-income countries or those with financial constraints, subject to editorial approval.
